i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

Under this year's new terms, even if the Samsung S26 phones is paid in full, the promotional credits are applied over 36 months without exception. In particular, the phrase "One trade-in promotional offer is available per line." appears to mean that you cannot receive multiple trade-in promotions on the same line. As a result, it's no longer possible to repeatedly trade in devices and generate a profit like last year. I'm getting off this train.
"unapplied promotional credits"
If you pay in full, you get the full credit up front. There are no unapplied promotional credits after that.

So question. I did this deal for the S24+ two years ago. Forgot to do it last year for the S25. I had the credits on my line. Do I just go and pay off the remaining 11 payments for the phones in order to do this deal? Do I keep the trade in credit if I do so, I thought I did, and only needed to pay off the balance-trade in credits, but it's showing the full amount due. So wanting to charge me $310 (11x $27 monthly payments left) instead of $79 (factoring in the $20~ trade in credit). Thoughts?

Anyone know how Authorized user works in spectrum? Can you buy phones from store if you are an authorized user in a spectrum Internet account?
Yes. I used a family member's account as authorized user (S23), and roommate's account as authorized user (S24).

1. Yep, best deal now is the S26 given just release so they often have this promotion each year during lanuch. I didn't sign up for the two lines to get the $200 off, so for me, it would just be $700 off with my trade in, so i'm getting my S26 around $200 plus tax.

2. The pre-order deal now is getting double storage for free (except base S26). Once the phone launch in 3/11, if they still have the $700 promotion (which base on past history, they usually run for a month after release), you can do it in store to avoid hassle of sending phone in. If this is your first time, I would say wait till phone launch in store and do it person at store (keep in mind that sometimes store will run out of phone and you might have to run couple times; usually they run out of the base S26, ultra almost always available). If your trade in value + $700 promo exceed the value of the phone you want to buy, the remaining goes to your credit. Also, the pay in full always available. Just let the rep know that you are "Paying in FULL with trade in.

3. Base S26 is always the best bang for your buck but If you want the ultra, then is still best deal there is compared to other places.
Thank you for the explanation.
So it seems since i am an existing Spectrum internet customer S26 may be around $200 + tax.
And all spectrum phones unlock in 60 days of service?

If you pay the full price, the full credits will post.
I once had a rep select payments instead of pay in full in store. I noticed after my bill that I had the device balance and was getting monthly credits. I paid the device in full and got the full credit posted within 24 hours.

I am a little confused, is this deal way worse than last years?
There are caveat of disclaimers and changes in rules that we haven't verified 100% yet so we don't know for sure.

One thing for sure is that the price is increased by $100 compared to previous years + they're trying to limit the number of trade in people can do. It's definitely worse but by how much, we have to see.

Why is it better? You could get a cheap burner phone and get $705 off the cost of the s26. And then sell your old phone for market value and get back some cash.

"After your trade-in is processed, you'll receive an email from Assurant with details about your offer.

Your offer may be adjusted based on the condition of your device. If you accept it, the trade-in credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal increments for the remainder of the plan, starting within two billing cycles. If there is no Device Payment Plan, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your account within the next two billing cycles. If you decline the offer, Assurant will mail your device back to you. If your adjusted offer is $0, you will not receive any trade-in credit.

Additionally, if you return your phone or leave Spectrum altogether, your promotional rate will no longer apply. "

This is from Spectrum trade-in FAQ section. It clearly says if you pay in full, you'll get the trade-in credit refunded to your account

How strict is Assurant with mail-in trade-ins? There's no Spectrum store near my home. I've heard that in-store trade-ins are pretty lenient, but not so sure with online

It's not that they're strict, but you always run the risk of something going wrong when you mail in the trade-in device. Last year, some people said that Assurant got the wrong device that they listed as the trade-in, or that it was taking forever for the trade-in credits to be refunded back to your Spectrum account, etc.
