i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Honestly I don't mind spectrum finally put a stop to the upgrade within an upgrade, let's face it, its an exploited loophole which shouldn't even exist in first place. With that said, Spectrum could have made it easier for themselves by just stop adding the new S26 phone to the trade-in list.
I plan to get an Ultra to use but later realize that the 256GB only comes with 12Gb Ram instead of 16Gb. Guess i'll wait on samsung for better trade in deal given I also get free samsung care for 2 years.
I do not think Spectrum actually controls the trade-in list but Assurant, which is the company that is actually involved in processing/reselling devices. The $700 promotion likely is not even coming from Spectrum but an arrangement they have from Samsung (i.e. Spectrum is just passing along $700 promotion from Samsung). Companies like Samsung/Apple just need to show high sales numbers at launch to try and pump their share prices. So it is not so much that there was an exploit but there is a standard list of trade-in devices and values and a separate promotion on top of it.
That is probably why it went on for years and this year the only adjustment was getting the $700 promotion to not apply to S26 trade-ins. Otherwise they would have just limited the $700 promotion to once per line.

I just got a s26 yesterday and wondering if I can trade this s26 towards iphones? or do i need to wait until s26 gets unlocked and try?
As long as the device is paid in full you can trade it in through Spectrum for another device whenever you want even if it is locked. The only issue people are reporting is if trying to trade in for another device in the S26 line since the $700 promotion does not apply. Some of the iPhones are showing $100 trade-in promotion so a potential issue could be if the S26 also have issues with the $100 iPhone trade-in promotion (might not) so that is something you could test online or just make sure you pay attention to when they are calculating things in-store if it matters to you.
My trade-in device was delivered to the Assurant by UPS on March 10th at 11am and now the trade-in status is still saying "Awaiting shipment" & No approval email from Assurant for $700 credit. What do you think?
Assurant only ever updates tracking status for me when I use to use USPS. With UPS QR it seems to only update once they process the device. Not sure how many days it is taking them at the moment but probably if today is just day 3 since they have received it they have just not processed it yet.
Tried to trade up S26 (that I got on Wednesday) to S26 Ultra with new line in store today and it didn't work. The $700 promotion got removed by the system at final checkout screen. It might work if you have a S26 from somewhere else but not Spectrum S26.

Asking as I couldnt find a direct answer - I am a Spectrum Internet Customer and I have a Galaxy Note 9 to trade-in. I see a value of $705 (700 promotion + 5 trade-in value) online for a S26 base. Can i complete this deal in a store? Since I am not a new internet customer will I get the entire 700 off in-store? Will they accept my old trade-in device at the store or should I ship it? Any other pointers to complete this deal? Thank you!

Went in store to try and do a trade-in for a S26. Spectrum rep said the $700 was only for NEW customers. I even told them I only had internet and wanted to open a new line.
I left the store immediately afterwards. That store always gave me weird issues when I go in. Seems like their reps aren't fully trained on all the available promotions.
The top reseller prices for buying S26 unlocked right now are around $450. Imagine will be $50-100 lower in a couple of months, not to mention some resellers are scammers and will price phones as Spectrum even if phone has been unlocked and then offer you $100-200 less when they get it. Like you mention you can sell on places like e-bay but then you are dealing with selling fees and risk of scammers.
S26 should have higher resell price than S25 since the launch price is $100 higher but we are paying that upfront also.
After 2 months, get them unlocked and this will increase the value $100-$200 easily.
That's my plan. I currently have two s26 now, plan on getting 2 more today.

Mine showed the same, then I got the email that the tradein was accepted and the site showed the same. It never indicated anything in between.
Is that pricing only for new customers, or is it also applicable to existing customers?
New customers who purchase Internet and 2 phones/lines. The discount goes away in the cart if you are an existing customer. Debating whether to cancel my Spectrum service and take advantage of the deal, but its a lot of hassle since I actually use them for internet/TV/etc.

I could not upgrade in-store due to some fraud alert. I moved to Spectrum internet 5 months back and took the free line promotion last month. This would have been my first ever device purchase with them. Anyone else faced this issue?

Awesome price to hold and unlock in 2 months for gaming and or sell for $500-600.
Going to get 2 more next week or online if they stop me in the store.

they 100% lied....

- $899 for the S26 Ultra.
- $699 for the S26+
That equates to $400 off each phone.
Is that pricing only for new customers, or is it also applicable to existing customers?
