i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
I just got the trade-in credit reflect in my account, but strangely this time they didn't credit back the tax for the trade-in amount. In all three previous years I have got trade-in amount plus tax. Anybody else seeing this?
Yes, they shorted the taxes on my credit this year. Previous 2 years got taxes refunded. Called customer service. Was told " cannot do anything about taxes". May call again, almost 50$ lost.

This is strange. In-store we would pay taxes on the difference anyways. I am going to call as well. I lost 100$ in two phone trade-in
yes, I bought two s26 base first visit at the same time: by opening up a 2nd $20/by the gig line and using my free 1 year line Trading in the moto 2025 walmart phone for both, getting $705 credit each. Paid in full so I'll unlock them in 2 months.
Have you tried upgrading on the same line and getting $700 promo credit twice? The fine print says only one promo credit per line but I don't know if they are actually enforcing it.

Are you sure about that for in-store? What I heard that in-store they did the same thing like online; that is why you have to pay around $272 total including tax for S26 base. This amount is not including fee for new line.

That's what I thought, but I haven't done that myself so not 100% sure

Just requested the promo credit back to account. Took around 3-4 days after assurant confirmed the trade in for credit to show up on account. Yes, they no longer refund the tax, think they changed like 6 months ago.
Credit posted. No tax refund unlike last year

Lost $110 in tax. When I did it in store, I only paid tax on the net amount.
Why go for the regular 17? I think the iphone air is the same price if not cheaper and its value is more similar to the 17 pro. If you were buying for personal use id assume the air is a better buy as well.
The promotions are kind of confusing on the Spectrum mobile website for iPhone products in terms of what actually applies in cart. It appears the Air might have some improved promotions that make it similar price to the 17 as you mention. But I am not sure that I agree that the Air has similar value as the 17 pro though.
The main problem with the Air compared to regular 17 is that it lacks ultrawide camera. Also the A19 Pro chip set that the Air has is a reduced version and performs not much different than the A19 chipset the 17 has when you look at benchmarks and the Air runs hotter. The speaker performance of the Air is also worse.
Obviously the Air is better choice if you want a thinner device but otherwise not too sure the higher MSRP is really going to translate to a better product for everybody. Plus in a year the resell value between the two is probably going to be pretty similar.

Is someone kind enough to answer if "new internet customer + financing 4 x new S26U with port-in would qualify $700 trade-in + $400 off per line? or $400 off would be limited to the first 2 lines?"
I have not heard anybody here mention anything about getting more discount for opening more than 2 lines (in fact people seem to have difficulty even getting the 2 line discount). The promotion specifically says 2 lines so I do not think it would work on 4. You could try and report back but I am not seeing anything to suggest it works on more than 2 lines.

Has anybody received tax refund for mail-in trade-in this year? This would put Spectrum in violation of tax laws in various states if they are not refunding taxes on promotional discounts. I doubt customer service can do anything about it but Spectrum could end up with a hefty lawsuit on their hands especially if they are doing this to thousands of customers. They would not even be able to deny it if they are funding the taxes when doing it instore and just withholding it when done online for the same promotion/discount.
Spectrum really dropping the ball this year.

Yes, I believe we all received the tax refund last year.
