i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Mine took 2 days, maybe check back later this morning. And just fyi I tried requesting my refund through online chat and they were completely useless (even though I had no issues requesting through chat in previous years), ended up calling in to request the refund.
thanks buddy. Show the credit after 11 am, call and open the ticket, and they say they opened the ticket for a refund of credit.
If I get the trade-in credits posted on my statement before I have to pay my bill, that would work out pretty well lol. Just pay the difference at that point.
so the $719 trade-in credit showed up on my bill. I will be paying the difference of the s26 ultra full price (pre-order discount) and trade-in credits in my upcoming bill in two weeks. So the payment method "failing" actually worked out really well for me lol. Don't have to deal with calling in to refund the money back into my bank. Maybe i'll try this for future promotions.

Now waiting for the refund to my credit card.
My ticket took a couple of days but that might be because of the weekend (you will get an e-mail when they have finished the ticket), hopefully you will see your credit back on your card in the next 1-2 days.

Thanks for confirming this and that it does not interfere with trade-in credits. Since they no longer allow switching of card for refund then if this situation does arise then it makes sense to just let it playout as you are describing.
For me it happened because Spectrum completely reversed the initial authorization charge (that was for the full amount) and then did a second charge (also for the full amount) and it triggered a fraud alert so the second charge got declined. I do not think they will process/ship the order if the initial charge fails so I am not sure it is something that one can necessarily plan to happen.

Just did 2 more trades in store today. Moto G > S26, S26 > iphone 17e. Both in NYC tax on the net amount after trade credit. I upgraded an existing line and added a new line.
I already did 2 in store trades on Sat (4 days ago) and I upgraded on one of the lines that I just upgraded 4 days ago. Still not blocked yet. maybe 5 trades in a week is the magic number?

yea, it was probably a one off glitch or something to still get the phone shipped to me lol. Strange, but i'll take it.

I am probably done with all this anyway unless they open up S26 to S26 trade-ins. Seems unlikely at this point but maybe with the drop in sales numbers this year they will open it back up with the S27s next year.
Still a good deal for somebody who actually wants an S26 device and qualifies for a free Spectrum line but not as great otherwise.
Even the S25 that had the same MSRP as the S24 is selling for around $50 bucks less right now than the S24 was selling for a year ago. I just do not think the higher MSRP of the S26 line is going to translate to much added value from a resell perspective based on these trends. Even on Spectrum right now the trade-in value through Assurant for the S26 is not much different than the S25 at this same point in time last year despite the $100 higher price.
I just got a full credit back of $705 on my statement, but NOT the taxes on $705 Trade in Credit.
Is that right? I was expecting credit back with Taxes.

Got 705 credit to statement about 5 days ago. No tax refund. Called cs. Deadend, told can't do anything about taxes. Asked to refund to credit card of record. Checked today, no credit to card. Called cs again today, explained taxes were refunded previous 2 years, Checked with manager, no dice. Asked again to refund to credit card. Had to open ticket. In FL.

Such a mess. Just fyi they refund back to credit card used for original order even if card current on record is different (change from previous years where they use to send to card on file). Took 2 days from when the ticket was processed to seeing the credit on my credit card (got confirmation e-mail when they processed the ticket).
