i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
In past years, as long as you had one active line remaining, you could insert the SIM card into the phone you wanted to unlock and contact customer service to have it unlocked once the 60-day period had been met.
Do we need both conditions below to unlock multiple phones from the same line?
Line 60 days old.
Each phone was activated more than 60 days ago.
I am seeing a post in the other threads about trading in s26 ultra from spectrum for another ultra plus credit. Is that possible?
I'm considering going into my local store. I'll bring my S26, S26 ultra, and probably the $30 Walmart phone as a trade in backup. Does anyone know if the Walmart phone can be returned if I don't use it or open the box. The S26+ could be sold out of my store already and since you can't call the only way to find out if to actually drive to a store.
Oh I forgot one thing, since l used the existing line $20 per month, they charged me $15 for prorated usage from 4/14 - 4/30. WTF... This $15 is Included into the May bill. So if you don't want any charge, use the free unlimited line for trade in.
If I already have a free line, can I get this additional new $20 line but discontinue right away after a month? I believe I can still use that free line to unlock the phone?

Yes, you can return the Walmart phone even you open the box. There is 14 days window for the return.

Thanks. Do you know if there is a way to discontinue the line without calling Spectrum? Can we port out to some "trial" plan with other carriers, e.g., those with US Mobile?

Yes, you can and get that transfer pin number before transferring out. Only transferring out and no other way

I went to a store to open a new line (already have another free line) for the extra $400 off on an S26 Ultra. After checking my account, they insisted that the discount $400+$700 only comes under the condition that I stick with them on this new line for 36 months. I do not think they played with me here, since they were happy to do the trade in of S25 for S25+ for me last year. I also just got a S26 from them a few weeks ago on my free line, paying full. Not sure if I should try another store.

I just got another one Ultra for $264 with a new line. I wanted this one under a free line, but they forced me to have a new line of $20 per month. Ok thank is fine. They said you can have up to 20 new lines per account.
