These will mess up the collars on dress shirts if you stack another shirt infront of it. It'll make a weird crease on them.

How does hanging some of the shirts a few inches lower than the others save any space in the closet? They still take up the same amount of space, horizontally, in the closet, except now they take up more space vertically.

Not the person you're responding to, but I've literally never ever seen a closet run out of horizontal space on the closet bar to fit additional hangers. Seen overstuffed vertical space, shelf space, drawer space, and of course many times run out of hangers themselves. But not space on the hanging bar.

I'm usually a sucker for anything "space-saving" or "efficiency", and even I think this is solving a problem that doesn't need to be solved.
