This is a great price... I got this last year at full price and it's been awesome. I prefer to play the switch in handheld mode using this, vs the joy cons. It's much more comfortable.
Biggest con is that it can't be used with the switch's dock (but there is video out on this) and removing the switch from this is tricky.

In for a purple. thanks OP. I don't think the plus model will get this low. I like asymmetrical sticks and I don't need docking. If you can get plus for sub $40 that would be a win.

How is this better than using the joycons? Serious question. I almost exclusively play mine docked using a pro controller, and rarely play it mobile because I don't like the joycons. To me, it doesn't look much different. If you could tell me how it is better, I would greatly appreciate it!

I got the Fortnite cuddle team edition on sale not too long ago. Wish i could've gotten the GameCube purple now lol. This is fantastic tho. Feels comfortable and is sturdy. The rumble is fierce. Even on the lowest settings it can rumble your deck off a table so be weary of that

I have the purple ND and Clear ND+. I preferred the purple one, but I moved on to the Switch 2 and am awaiting that version. My 10 year old loves it also, and he is on the smaller side for his age:

it actually has grips unlike the joycons that are flat in the back. it also feels way more solid since there aren't 2 joycons being held on by the rails.

if you ever felt a handheld like the steam deck, it makes it feel a lot more like that. imo it's a major upgrade over the joycons and at this price it's definitely worth checking out.
