never tried the true version but personally i dislike the bud 2 pro profile. the sound is great but for me it's just not secure enough for the gym (or even for an airplane), so it was relegated for office use only.
These are available online for similar prices for 'used'. That's how I got mine with the janky battery life.

I recall using the unofficial GalaxyBudsClient: https://github.com/timschneeb/GalaxyBudsClien
Connected to it and seeing this under the 'System' (the one with 4 squares, one of them being at an angle, like extensions) > Usage Reports, while the metering report is set to 0 for music and call usage, the usage report is wild!

LEFT_EARBUD_CHARGING_CYCLE (Event)-24583
CHARGE_WIRED_COUNT_LEFT (Status) -2
CHARGE_WIRED_COUNT_RIGHT (Status) - 9
CHARGE_WIRELESS_COUNT_LEFT (Status) - 26
CHARGE_WIRELESS_COUNT_RIGHT (Status) -103
CHARGE_WIRED_TIME_LEFT (Status)- 18
CHARGE_WIRED_TIME_RIGHT (Status)- 114
CHARGE_WIRELESS_TIME_LEFT (Status)-403
CHARGE_WIRELESS_TIME_RIGHT (Status)-1520
EARBUDS_LOW_BATTERY (Event)- a: 2, b: 38
Either these are floor sample models or the previous owner swapped out the earbuds they have with one from best buy, keeping the same case serial number. I'm going to clean them up and do a factory reset to see if these are the same numbers. If they are I will have to return them. Sigh. Was so hyped for these.
(The number difference between left and right is kind of wild - probably they used it on one ear too much)
edit I don't think this is possible, being charged over 24k times for a 2022 earbud.. must be something off
