I picked up the "fair" condition one from Woodland, CA. There was no fair about it. The box was a bit rough but the airpods are in excellent condition.

sounds way better than my airpods 4 non anc - will check battery life today... other then that, its a win!

doesnt look like they are fake. not sure of the chances of that...

Correct. Apple does not include chargers or cables anymore so you won't get one in an open box set.

AirPods 3 Pro I purchased from Amazon Resale last December were FindMy locked to previous owner. Resetting them, as mentioned here, didn't work; nothing did. I then contacted Apple support, which opened a case, and proved a new replacement at no cost— left and right earbuds, and charging case, shipped separately — through its express replacement program (temporary credit card hold pending receipt of defective items) within a week of my contacting them. I shipped back the FIndMy locked earbuds and case with packaging and label provided by Apple; Fedex came to my door to pick up. Apple provided confirmation that it received the defective set within a few days. Apple warranty transferred seamlessly to the replacement serial number. I think it's worth a shot, especially if you can get the situation resolved within the return period, as I was able to. Cheers

Went to my local BB this afternoon and picked up an excellent pair for $129. They are perfect condition with no earwax, scratches and FINDMY shows no previous owner and AppleCare until 2034. This is a small BB and I bet they had 30-40 open box airpods mainly Pro 3 and 4's. I ask the manager (she gave me the $129 price) how come they had so many returns. She told me for the last several months they get random shipments from the warehouse so I'm assuming that may be for other items as well. May start checking BB a little more often...

I would recommend using the in store pick up option if possible. Can check the unit out and check iCloud lock, and return on the spot if not satisfactory. Back to the same price this morning

Bought "excellent" and it did NOT come in the original box. The paperwork it came with is damaged but everything else looks brand new. Checking warranty has March 7, 2026 as original pruchase date.

I'm surprised Apple took care of you instead of sending you back to Amazon to work it out with them...? did you have to persist with Apple to get them to handle it?
