Thanks, I'll give the excellent condition a shot.

Edit: got the excellent condition and they seem brand new. The box said light scratches but I couldn't find any.

Didn't want to sleep on it so I ordered and picked up tonight. Open box but well sealed. Opened in the car and contents were very clean No sign of wear on case or buds. Bonus as I used my BB certificate for another 10 off.

Bought a fair unit and returned it. Very scratched up case and sound quality is similar if not worse than my current AirPod pro 2

Best buy doesn't GAF about open box airpods. They're likely to be dirty, still paired the the prior owner, and might not even be the same quality as the listing.

I bought open box excellent AP4ANC from Best buy back in the fall and not only were they all of the above, they were labeled as "good" instead of excellent, but clearly weren't even that. Case scratched to hell and buds that looked like they went through someone's entire ear canal before being traded in. Credit to my local store for being very apologetic and actually gave me a new pair as compensation, but that was after dealing with absolutely garbage LLM CS chat for over an hour that struggled to manage the return and couldn't get me to a live person.

If I didn't have APP3 already, this is a really appealing price, but I don't know if I could gamble going through that frustrating experience again.

Well, I tried this one out. Paired the Airpods in the parking lot and saw that they were still tied to the previous owner. Walked back in to return them. Too bad, because they were otherwise pristine.

I just picked some up open box fair in Southern California. The AirPods are literally pristine and look open box even the eartips look never used. The only caveat is it did not come with a box or charging cable and I think that's why they marked it as fair. Warranty through the end of December 2026 so I should be in great shape.

purchased 2 open box excellent. both arrived overnight. One pair was in a sealed box...i'm talking factory sealed...but it only has 50 weeks of warranty left.. the other one came in a clearly-opened box, but in 99% perfect condition. 44 weeks of warranty left on the 2nd pair. Neither of them was attached to another FINDMY account -- unlike the pair I just sent back to VIPOutlet via ebay -- so that was just great. After trade-in of old gen 1s plus 9.5% cashback, these will have been about $110 to upgrade from pro 1 magsafes to pro 3s.

I bought an open box late last year from Best Buy and it was "find my" locked. I had to return it. Wound up getting a "Amazon resale" open box deal that was not locked, it's been fine.

Definitely check the Find My before leaving the store.

Tried out an "Excellent" and the case was scratched up. Looks like the box has a few stickers ripped off it before. Must have been returned a few times. Will be returning it.

Well it looks like mine are going back, I can't get find my to work. The AirPods show a Mismatch, even if I go through all the resetting. It doesn't change the fact someone connected to them originally so I can't fully own them.

My "Excellent" came with no box and the case was heavily scratched. Warranty until 11/28/26. Appears it was purchased on Black Friday and then used up until the holiday return period in mid January. Returned them same day.
