This is why I'll never shop at Direct Tools again. I'd need to check the model numbers to be sure, but I got the newest subcompact drill and impact driver w/ 2A battery each for $57 each in January, and if these ones from DT are the previous model, the newest models unblemished for $114 can be had at HD if you just look out for sales. I like DT, but why bother when HD has deep discounts fairly often?

I was going to say the same. Brand new price on regular sale for the set is $119 at Home Depot. This is a bad deal when you consider tax and shipping is added.

But your $57 deal was a clearance deal and not a regular discounted price. It was also store specific (had a few stores that had leftover Black Friday inventory) and YMMV for everyone. It's actually my favorite drill and I got a similar deal like 4 years ago.

Are we complaining about Direct Tools? Two factory blems I bought from them weren't visually blemished but are dysfunctional, lol. One worked fine but the LED never turns off so that drains the battery. It's a control board failure, I learned, and costs as much as the tool to replace. Ah well.
