Just a head up that Costco currently has this same model for $100 less ($1,699.99 in white). Costco's price also includes delivery, installation, haul away, and accessories which usually saves another couple hundred bucks.

We recently bought this model in the gas version (we live in an older home) and Costco also installed our gas version for free (ultimately saved $300 for those services compared to Best Buy).

We really like both the washer and dryer so far (but have had them for less than a year). Two small notes are 1) with the gas version we need to use the extra dry function every time 2) A normal wash cycle takes about 1.5 hours (LG is known for being very energy efficient but has long wash times). Overall, very happy with these so far!

Now that I'm needing a new washer (and mine as well get a new dryer), I've noticed it's always the front loader sets that go on good sales and not their top loader sets. Come on LG.

Any advantage to having a top loader vs a front loader?

More of a personal preference after using a front loader for the last 12 years. Front loaders used to be more efficient, but that's became less true over the models made in the last 7(?) years. No more smells in the washer or clothes if I dont open the door quick enough after the load is complete. This one is 12 years old, so it has the mold around the loader gasket issue. All the manufactures had that issue, some still do. And larger capacity.

Just a built in stack kit but if one fails the whole unit is probably done due to control panel

FYI. If you want to stack this, you'll need to purchase a separate stacking kit which is neither included nor even recommended during the checkout process. I found this out the hard way when I had to delay installation because I didn't realize I needed one.

Avoid Best Buy if you can because they don't even use their own people for installation.

I'm not seeing gas anywhere. Both the Costco and Lowe's links go to electric models.
