About these films:
  • Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989):
    • San Dimas, California, teens Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are dangerously close to flunking their high school history class. Luckily, they get some unexpected help from Rufus (George Carlin), a man from the future who gives the guys a time-travelling phone booth that allows them to meet such historical luminaries as Abraham Lincoln, Billy the Kid, Joan of Arc, Napoleon, and more.
  • Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991):
    • Oh, no, dudes! Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) have to go to incredible lengths to win an important band contest. It's, like, into Heaven and Hell they go, encountering some look-alike robots and challenging the Grim Reaper to a game of Battleship.
  • Bill & Ted Face The Music (2020):
    • The long-awaited third entry in the popular comedy/sci-fi series finds the universe on the brink of destruction-and Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) still haven't written the song that was meant to prevent that very catastrophe. Can another wild trip through time and a little help from their respective daughters (Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine) get the tune penned before all of reality is lost forever?

Third movie is a dumpster fire that completely ignores the rules and lore established in the first two movies. The "logic" is ridiculous: in the future there's a prophecy about what two guys who lived centuries ago may or may not do. How TF to do you have a prophecy about the PAST?

It took a lot of suspension if disbelief, but I had pretty low expectations. I liked it, and Alex and Keanu didn't miss a beat playing Bill and Ted. Their death bed scenes with each other cracked me up.
It was a nice escape during COVID

My god, imagine going online and raging that not only a Bill & Ted movie was ridiculous, but that it wasn't grounded into lore of the previous two ridiculous movies.

Let's keep in mind that the plot of the original movie is that humanity formed a utopian society based on the music of two high school numbskulls, and that this future society needed to use time travel to get them to pass their history test so that their band would form. And that's way less ridiculous than the plot of the second movie.

It's really not worth taking this seriously.
