These work well, but Vornado isn't as good as they used to be. I've been looking at Dreo fans, especially since most use a DC motor which is more efficient.

For those wondering, you can not use this with a smart plug/outlet as the buttons to run it have no memory.

They recently refused to fix/replace one that just broke. Done with them.

They completely ignored my email for a warranty request. Mine squeels super loud when turning on and then while running. At the time of reporting it was still within the 5 year warranty but I sent them the receipt, a video fo the issue, photos, the serial number, my address, etc., and then they emailed the "we got your email" and I never heard from them again.

I've had 2 of these fans for a couple of years. Good overall.
My only gripe is the use of electronic switches. They operate fine, BUT do not remember state on power loss, so you cannot manage them with smart switches. Had I known previous to purchase I would have skipped.

Get WiFi version of 660 AE if you want smart controls. I have two, and even the bedroom one far away from router works perfectly.

There are multiple types of Vornado fans. Made in the USA, DC motor, made in china, legacy models. This is a legacy model, the way you tell is it requires 4+ screws and clips to remove the front grill. The newer models all have one screw and a twist removal grill which makes cleaning FAR easier. Have never been denied a Vornado claim in my life, last claim was in December. Called the number, spoke with someone, they sent an email while i was on the phone to upload a photo of the serial with the cut cord, 3-4 business days later i had a new fan delivered. Even without the warranty, no fan manufacturer puts out fans that move the kind of CFM the Vornados do. One of those industrial/commerical floor drying fans at Home Depot used for paint drying/garage etc puts out similar CFM to this model. Whoever recommended Dreo is even funnier as all their fans require a completely level surface otherwise it squeeks and wobbles (that's on the product page found on Dreo's website). Also they may want to check out the Dreo heater that was just posted to Reddit a few days ago, purchased from Costco, engulfed in flames reduced to ashes in a few months.

These are good fans for the money. But moving to buttons is a no go, need to use smart plugs in 2026
