I bought a refurbished Acer Nitro 16 from Acer on eBay and it came in pristine condition. It's still going strong 1.5 years later.
Free returns for 30 days and a 2 year warranty should provide some peace of mind, but it's always worth looking at reviews for a particular model places like notebook check and toms hardware to see if there are known issues.
