Cheesy as hell but still enjoyable. Jim Steinman songs on the soundtrack. And Diane Lane.

Diane Lane has never been hotter, despite the lip syncing. Steinman masterpieces are highlight.

Patrick [H] Willems did a great video about Streets of Fire which included the surprising fact that the amazeballs finale song, "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young", was NOT the original ending. They filmed her singing Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Fire" then Brooooooooce decided he didn't want it used, screwing the production over. So, Jim Steinman had to whip up a new song, and they brought back Diane Lane, putting a wig on her because she'd changed her hair for the movie she was shooting at the time, and filmed the new number. Video here: https://youtu.be/O79si8OaEQM?si=ukitf8Lo8lAEh8qN
What floors me about the finale is how the editing continuity is flawless. Even allowing for multiple cameras, they clearly performed the number multiple times yet when they intercut the footage everyone is in the correct places. Watch it from 1:45 when she says, "It's gonna be over," and the guitarist hits the pose and they cut to three angles in less than two seconds. When the Sorelles come in, it gets even more bonkers: https://youtu.be/_RiddOphPKs?si=ToF9RRT38BrebimA
Thanks to Broooooce being a jerk, we got a clearly superior ending.

Streets of Fire has one of the best introduction sequences of any movie. Clip of the song, but the whole intro rocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a...rt_radio=1

I personally prefer this version of Nowhere Fast to Meatloaf's, which is also good.
