I would go for the Excellent Renewed ones from Amazon for $292 https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Ga...56RQ4?th=1

Should you get Flip 6 instead?

I agree with you going for Amazon renewed instead of Ebay. I bought iPhone 15 Pro Max before from Renewed, I was not happy with the battery, I called CSR and they refunded the amount of battery replacement from Apple. Same with Woot, they would do the same.

They all have similar screen issues. The tech is early.

Bought the Flip 5 back in 2024 from Amazon. Haven't had any issues with it so far except the pre-installed screen protector peeling and bubbling at the center, so I'll need to get it replaced.

In case you don't know, Amazon renewed is all 3rd party sellers and they're exactly the same as the ones on ebay in most cases. Make sure to check reviews for whichever 3rd party seller you choose.

If you click on "other sellers" in the link you posted, you can find excellent for $285.

The tech still isn't ready. Crease remains an issue. Half screen can turn blank, display lines, ugly crease, etc. Any new tech give it 15 years. Look at EVs. Range anxiety still here. By 2030 EVs should have 400-500mi on average, and SSB...

The newer ones are pretty good. I've gone through several flip phones. Currently using a Motorola one and I'm pretty happy with it

I've had this for 2+ years. The bending novelty wears off fast when you realize you have to do an extra step to open every time just to use it like a normal phone

Meanwhile text and images are noticeably distorted when passing through the crease. If you hated curved screen phones now imagine the curve in the smack middle

Not to mention worrying about the screen looking like a Rorschach test everytime you open it

And how often do you drive 500 miles without stopping? That's 7 hours straight at 70mph. Stop to get lunch half way and you'll be all charged up again.

Range anxiety doesn't mean the tech is unusable and bad for 99% use cases. Just means people freak out over practicallynothing.
For EVs, how many days are you driving 300+ miles? Most people drive under 100 per day. Even on long road trips you are taking a break and refueling every few hours. So its really unnecessary anxiety.
Like folding phones. They do everything you need them to do and maybe a small small small percentage of the time the crease is noticeable or impacting use.
