The propaganda fantasy, remotely based on real events. All the "catchy" details a completely fake and made up specifically to make a point. Starting from bottom line.
Nicely done comrade. Great Stalin must be smiling upon you

I personally know quite a few "liquidators", made my own research on subject and all event before and after the disaster. Also studied original movie script.- believe me, not all "juicy" things survived the final cut. Which is good, because otherwise this flick would have been much less digest able.My final conclusion was - all the scenic, artistically impressive, emotionally charged scenes and plots are 100% lie and complete opposite to what really happened

Thanks, OP. It's an HBO series that was very well done. Really accurate representation as to how or all happened and the unfortunate government and management incompetence at first.
It is well done. But I was watching on a long Emirates flight. 3 episodes in, I still didn't see a single scene or mention of elephants foot. I was a little disappointed.

Wasn't the elephant's foot discovered like 8 months after the fact? This series was closer to April and May, 1986. I forget off-hand how far in time they covered at the end of the series.

All I hear is a man I don't know engaging in conjecture in direct contradiction to what has been reported by HBO officials.
