This single axis solar tracker is mainly about squeezing more output from limited space, especially for ground mounts or roof replacements where drilling is already planned. The controller can lay the array flat in low sun or high wind, and the actuators have held up for more than a year in some setups. The tradeoff is that wind, maintenance, and eventual motor failure are recurring concerns, and the space it needs can rival simply adding another panel. I imagine the caveats on it are likely enough to discourage you from doing that. I have the two-axis one, and I'm nervous even in moderate windstorms, though it's on a concrete base that's 6ft across and 6ft down, and nominally weighs 17,000 lb.
