maximum watts on a 15A circuit is 1800W. they claim this pulls 1875W max. If it pulled 1875W it would trip the breaker immediately

Not ideal, but also not unusual. Also plenty of 20A circuits around, which is 2400W. Usually in places like the bathroom (may only have one outlet), kitchen, and garage. Personally, I'd prefer a power strip *without* a surge protector, let the circuit breaker do its job unless you're in a house with old wiring (in which case I'd probably want something better quality anyways).

Also note that 1875W doesn't include the USB ports (somewhat understandable, 3.1A over 3 ports isn't very useful)
