Not sure why they wouldn't include threaded hoses.

would you use this for your fridge water line? or not worth the hassle? my fridge already has filters but i can put one in the line the basement before it goes up

Definitely not doing that!

They should include fittings so that you can connect the device to your shut-off and to the flexible hose that is currently attached to the shut-off if you have that kind of setup. Apparently they used to, but it doesn't seem as though this model includes it.
