Yep, so many have said "Refurbished" just means used with EcoFlow

Yep. Smells like smoke or water damage too. As I mentioned, I'm sure this is the exception to the rule, but it's just a heads up to those who think Ecoflow is actively tearing these apart and examining them thoroughly. My guess is they are not, and that the average users takes care of their stuff, has a warranty and sends it back and they fix whats needed and repackages. This thing was beat and they couldn't bother to wipe it down before taking my $160.

I'm not an expert at all but it just makes me pause on getting stuff like this from companies.

I've purchased 4 'refurb' ecoflow from ebay in the last two months and they all looked basically brand new. doubt they had been used at all. It's a crap shoot, but if you get a dud, just return it. Not a big deal. These prices are really good and worth the shot.

and you're sure it was this actual eBay store? there's a "ecoflow solar store" with what looks like their logo also selling refurbs. asking as I've bought half a dozen or more things from the official eBay store and almost everything looked brand new or very lightly used based on the condition grading within the auction

Yes sir. Ecoflow Official Store. Same as the link above. I bought one because ever thing I've read basically touts them as either seemingly new or excellent condition, just like you said. But that's what I received. If I had to guess, that's dried salt water on the front of it and it's also covered in grease and dirt. My second guess is this was a no questions asked Costco type "return". Costco says buyer said it's broken, sends it to Ecoflow, they slap it in a new box and send it out. I can't think of any other explanation that would cause this maybe other than they just didn't do their job... lol. I'm just sketched out as this was for my home server with $5k in hard drives. So I will wait for a new deal from Costco.

I'm with you. I'm not disappointed I received a bad unit, I'm more disappointed that it's making me doubt their process. I hope that makes sense. Because I love getting deals too and if these things are 95% conditioned but for half price, then that's a no brainer to me. But you can probably see why I'm doubt their actual process if this slipped through the cracks. This is more disappointed dad energy than anything lol.
