Is Linksys still owned by Belkin? If so, I wouldn't take one even if they paid me $18.

I saw a blurb about Linksys being called out as 'insecure' by a BIG company.

They all are hackable, 'phones home', or ??. Maybe a setting or fixed via firmware, but may want to find out before buying.

I own this and it's been great. I stream my games in my house from one console or pc to another pc and these have some pretty low latency. I had a nighthawk and pings between devices on my local network were around 60ms, sometimes spiking to 1 full second. Got this and i'm seeing average pings under 1ms on my local network. Made a huge difference playing games over steam link. Wifi range is not that bad either, i'd say it's pretty average.

Foxconn acquired Linksys from Belkin back in 2018.
If you're worried about vulnerabilities the FBI listed the affected routers and this one is not on the list. It's the much older Linksys routers that had weak security.

Is this router faster than the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301)? Any reason to pick this up over the MX4300 (LN1301)?

Luckily mine is just an AC1600 that I got for $12 on amazon resale, it's been flawless for 3 years so I'm not mad just tired of it crashing daily
