Unfortunately, when players reach 3.0 USTA level, the dead balls bother them, even in drills.
My experience is that a ball with a little more or denser rubber in the core, like a pro penn marathon
or Diadem extra duty (pretty inexpensive) is the best value because they, while costing
twice as much, last 3 to 5 times longer, especially in a hopper.
Yes, regular duty felt balls are also used primarily for clay because they are lighter and the fuzz is a little different, but did you know that up till about 5/10 years ago the WTA used them for hard courts as well?

The bounce of this ball is very different from true tennis balls.
Only buy if you don't know tennis and don't intend to play tennis.
