The Miyoo Flip V2 is a compact clamshell handheld that stands out for portability and enough power for retro favorites, with some hope for Dreamcast and stronger performance than the R36S class. The updated hinge is the main draw, but hinge reliability still comes up as the biggest concern, especially on older units and some grey models. The included microSD cards are widely treated as junk and often replaced, and ROMs may not be included. Free 90 day returns soften the risk, making it a tempting small handheld if you can live with the hinge uncertainty.

  • The Miyoo Flip V2 is reportedly expected to use a better hinge design than older Flip versions.

  • The RG35XXH can run well after firmware flashing, and working ROMs can boot quickly on a properly set up microSD.

  • The RG40XX H/V adds Bluetooth and video-out compared with the Miyoo Mini Plus, which can broaden use cases.

  • The RG40XX H/V platform can support stronger Dreamcast, N64, and PSP coverage than the MM+ class devices.

  • The Miyoo Flip hinge can still be unreliable, even when the listing claims an improved version.

  • The included microSD cards are reportedly generic and may need replacement before the handheld is usable.

  • The RG35XXH has reportedly suffered severe failures, including junk cards that fail immediately and repeated battery replugging to play.

  • The RG35XXH firmware may boot without ROMs included, which can force extra time sourcing replacement ROM files.

Any suggestions on a list of games to add or how big of an sd card to grab for it?
I would not really get a huge card, max 128gb. What I've figured out over the years is if you're spoiled for choice you never really give games an honest shake. I modded a Wii, and watched my nephew play each game for about 3 minutes before abandoning it for something else. It was frustrating to watch him dump on classics because of how they looked or how hard they were. I think the whole GBA library is like 8 or 12gb, and that has plenty of stuff to keep you entertained for a year at least. Ps1 games are probably around 700mb per disc, and PSP and Dreamcast can be around 1gb per disc. Also the most important thing in emulation is the CPU, and from poking around it looks like the rk3566 is slightly more powerful than the h700. Still tons of fun to be had on either. I have a pretty nice phone, but I don't use it for emulation much. I have often thought about picking something like this up to play more games in hopes to reignite my passion.

A little better processor and slightly better build quality. You'll be able to play some psp and some dreamcast games on these processors vs those. R36s might top out at ps1.

Serious question but why something like this vs your cell phone with an android/iPhone controller holder like this for 25 bucks https://a.co/d/0dxH8II1

STAY AWAY from the RG35XXH !! Had two of them and they both had the SAME identical issues and Anbernic had been ZERO help in getting them replaced or responding at all to my emails!! The cards are junk and fail immediately, and most of the time when you want to play the POS you have to remove the battery and plug it back in every time. Tried getting Anbernic to replace them as I have spent more time trying to get them working than what I have been playing then, but they are radio silent on my emails! Dont know about the other models, but I dont trust Anbernic or their customer service anymore to try them. I have two paperweights right now that each of them has less than a half hour play time on them!
Have had an RG35XXH for well over a year now and it has been awesome. The microSD cards that come with ALL of these are known to be junk - buy a name branded 128GB card and either reinstall stock anbernic firmware or your choice of suitable firmware's, load tinybest set ROMS, throw away the included card, and enjoy.

Yea,you are right .. I download the latest firmware and flashed it so it now boots, but it doesn't come with the ROMs on it so I got to try and figure out where to get the replacement ROMs from instead of having to download each one one by one.

I had the same issues, thankfully, using my own MicroSD and a ROM with 8000 games from arcadepunks.com for the device fixed everything! Not every ROM works, but the ones that do are obvious, because they boot quickly!

Best of luck with a new MicroSD.

Pulled the trigger on Miyoo Flip V2.

V2 is supposed to have a better hinge. Let's see how it holds up.

Do any of these or any other you recommend for WiiU games? I have an Ally X but would need something more portable and less expensive for travels
