  • 5-Inch Fiberglass Woofer With Rubber Surround: Made with a combination of rigid lightweight fiberglass cone and supple rubber surround, the BS5's woofer has been tuned to offer a great balance of bass and midrange output, doing so with exceptionally low distortion at normal listening levels.
  • 1-Inch Silk Dome Tweeter with Waveguide: The outcome of countless hours of design refinement, the BS5's tweeter produces a smooth, extended, and predictable treble response with the help of its integrated waveguide. The result is music full of accurate detail and precise imaging.
  • The BS5's enclosure utilizes rounded vertical corners to reduce baffle diffraction. Its front-ported design allows placement right up against a wall. The magnetic grill system eliminates unsightly mounting holes.
In addition to music and movie setups, these would also be good for surrounds, Atmos heights, or desktop speakers.

A big step up over the similarly priced Jamo bookshelves from Adorama, which were reviewed and measured here: https://www.erinsaudiocorner.com/...jamo_s803/

(Amazon also offers the "New" version for $20 more.)

Great Little speakers for a near field setup. I used these on my desk for about a year before upgrading my room to allow for larger speakers behind my desk. I still own them and they sound great. This renewed price is about what they cost a year ago new and it was definitely worth the money.

Agreed not bad for near field(ie computer) use.
Wouldn't expect much with anything else though.

It's a common industry practice is to sell brand new product under the "refurbished," "B-stock," or "renewed" label to attract the bargain-hunters, while those consumers who are willing to pay full price can continue to pay full price. Also makes the manufacturer happier to see that its brand image is not being hurt by deep discounting. "Open box" is another 50/50 gambit, half the time it's also brand new. Of course, this can randomly vary with certain vendors---I've had Amazon "Used-Very good" appear to be brand new, while their "Used-Like new" once in a while shows clear signs of wear.
