Was looking forward to this coming out and then everyone said it sucked. $10 is a good price, but like everyone, my gaming time is limited so I don't want to waste hours playing something unless it's worth it. Can anyone sell me on this?

I heard negative things when it first came out, so I stayed away, but then I bought for $10 last year and enjoyed it.

Don't get me wrong, it's not Dragon Age: Origins. The story is mediocre and the characters are totally forgettable. The thing is that the combat is actually pretty fun. Whereas the previous games were more focused on strategic combat, this game is really more of an action game. I think the ~80 Metascore was about right for Veilguard.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend it to anybody Dragon Age fan or not. It's just not good. It's not a good Dragon Age game and it's not a good action-RPG. I played it for maybe 5 or 6 hours and gave up on it due to boredom with the combat and because of how nonsense the plot was, how boring the characters were, and how they completely ignore the complex issues that characterize the Dragon Age world.

Got this free on ps plus. Installed it but as of now still haven't actually launched it. Maybe I should give it a go but unlike Star wars outlaws nothing can save this total catastrophe. Watching the youtube videos alone was enough to keep me replaying inquisition again rather than polluting my dragonage memories with this game.

I'm not a diehard DA fan (only played Inquisition prior to Veilguard). As a stand-alone game, it's fun as an action RPG. Graphics are especially stunning. My time is limited as well, and I don't regret playing it.
