I appreciate that some work went into getting a 4k transfer but doesn't $90 seem a little steep for a 4-season tv show? Not knocking the deal, just curious

Wouldn't you know it! A little over 30 days ago, I bought the Blu-ray version. I have not seen it yet on my 4K setup. When I did click on the link, I was offered a coupon for $17.97 off (I have Prime, buy a lot of physical media, YMMV) bringing the total before taxes and/or shipping to $71.86. Looking at the reviews of the 4K version, I think I'm going to either sell my Blu-ray set or give it away to somebody that kind of grew up on this stuff.

Thanks OP!

Maybe you can sell your copy on eBay like I do and buy the 4k or wait for this version to get cheaper.

I used to buy single seasons of Star Trek on DVD for $80-90.
Of course that was a bit over 20 years ago and having seasons of a show to watch at any time was kind of a new thing...

Don't get me wrong, I love the series, but the reviews outside of Amazon say this 4k set suffers from the compression.

The "however" for this release is a big one. These new 4K masters are heavily compressed, and the microblocky anomalies are omnipresent throughout the series. It's bad enough that it negatively affects details and overall clarity across the board.

I guess, I'll stick with my Blu-ray set at this point.

I love Knight Rider as much as the next genXer but it's hard to go back to this show. Especially if you're binge watching it. The same recycled plot and scenes over and over again interspersed with some great two parter episodes. There's definitely a lot of filler episodes to get through. Don't know if this needed a 4k release.

I remember those! One of the biggest money grabs in history. I really wanted to buy them, but just couldn't bring myself to do it at those prices.

I've owned the blu-ray set (with the KITT light-up cover) and re-watched it maybe once. Still, makes for a great conversation piece but this set doesn't look as flamboyant :/
