Your call. I've ordered from the seller three times on eBay and once direct. Everything worked out just fine for me for each purchase. I would consider them a reputable seller and, if you look at their site, they do offer a 30 day return policy. Unless the eBay purchase comes with an extended warranty, I would suggest buying from them directly at that price point.

Looks like eBay offers 2 year warranty instead of 90 days from direct seller

I bought these as an upgrade from my Sony WH-1000XM5's because I was excited about the LE Audio connectivity, thinking it would allow me to game and use the microphone at the same time with full quality audio (with traditional Bluetooth, the audio quality drops dramatically whenever the mic is active, and LE Audio is purported to fix this).

Unfortunately, I was overly optimistic. First, enabling LE Audio in Windows is only possible in rare circumstances where the OEM provided driver indicates LE Audio support, even if the underlying chipset is rated for Bluetooth 5.2+. Secondly, even if your computer supports it or you buy a secondary dongle, the audio quality still drops terribly when the mic is active.

I will spare all the details but check out the Reddit thread "WH-1000XM6 via LC3 - a limited experience for gaming" for more of a breakdown.

Overall, I found nothing in the Sony WH-1000XM6's to be a worthwhile upgrade without working LE Audio and returned them. I'll continue with my Sony WH-1000XM5's (and an external mic for gaming) for the foreseeable future.

I bought the WF-1000XM5 buds refurbished from Secondipity a few years back. The overall service was good, but I did have to return them because the ANC kept glitching out on me. The return was hassle-free. If I had the money, I would pull the trigger on these.

It's reinforced, but I've still heard some cases of breaking. My XM4's never had any issues with the hinge -- but I napped with them on all the time for the quietness. But one day it finally broke under my head pressure. What I'm saying is -- the XM5 should hold up even better than the 4's due to the reinforcement, but I still wouldn't suggest sleeping with them. Otherwise, they shouldn't ever break with normal usage. The people who break them are abusing them, like I did.
