I don't think this is a "hot, throttling under-performing box". This particular Dell model is arguably one of the better (if not best) of all the bland-looking office-type desktops. It allows for better expandability than competing HP, Acer, Lenovo boxes.

Slick deal. Can't build it for that money. Not even close. If I were in need of a 1080p gaming PC, this would be it right now.

Why? IPS panel, 144hz, 1080p. Perfect pairing for that PC.

That 27" 1080p HDMI 1.4 monitor is a throw-away.
Guess I'll have to keep my 144hz 1080p via DVI TN panel.

Is this a large case or midsize case? Room for additional drives?

Is the monitor returnable for a prorated refund?

Purchased just PC weeks ago when first listed on SD.

Midsize case with 2 open slots for 3.5" SATA HDDs. Slots are wired for SATA data and power.

Returns on discounted packages usually specify returning all products. I believe that Micro Center has this policy, but YMMV on enforcement.

oof figures considering the price but it's the 8gb 5060 ti. still seems like a nice starter kit for budget gaming.

Pushing?!! Really.. you know what 1K gets you now in today's hardware crisis.. stop undermining these deals. A 5060 can play just about anything on 1080p and get someone into PC gaming.. bunch of cheap fu..w expect a 5070 at this price.. just the RAM alone at 32gb is worth the cost.

Why would one put a $350~400 GPU in a PC and call it a Workstation?

Assuming the internals on this are standardized fare, this is a pretty solid starter PC. If you wanted to get silly you could even swap the things over to a fancy case and have it feel less office-y.
