In the product's defense, she clearly wasn't storing the knives with the handles protruding higher above the block, as shown in the product picture. And the scissors would have stayed fully closed if stored pointing up, again as shown in the product picture. But agree this doesn't seem like the safest/most secure way to store extremely sharp, pointy things. And calling it "space-saving" is delusional.

That's what I had in my last home (sprayed with plastidip so it wouldn't damage the knives) but I'm going to get this to avoid having to drill into the tile backsplash I have now and having two sides will be nice.

I've got a magnetic pad for tools I got for free from like Marlboro or something and it's on the side of my fridge with all my knives hanging on it. I'm pretty sure harbor freight sells something similar.
