I was like damn I just paid $60 for this... then I realized this model is different and does not tie to the app and wifi....

I like the app, setting alerts for when temps hit is pretty

I think this company is ready to IPO, they make decent products

Bought the Wireless Meat Thermometer P2 on a (https://slickdeals.net/f/19267246-thermomaven-smart-bluetooth-wireless-meat-thermometer-w-2-probes-60-free-shipping). It's been amazing - even the WiFi/app has worked flawlessly (and now I more regularly use my probes versus the other brands I've bought in the past).

I've tried a lot of amazon-brand items exactly like this (a lot. I am Vine and got at least 3 or 4 different ones free, plus I've purchased a couple different models like this in the past). They were all absolute garbage. They didn't work well, and the app connection started out poor and eventually just straight up stopped working entirely. Not worth the frustration.

I've only used this 4 times so far but connection has been instant, rock solid, and flawless. The probes lasted my longest cook - 4 hours - without problem and used ~30% of their battery (if the battery level is accurate which I will give the benefit of the doubt for now).

If you're turned off app controls because they generally suck... I'd actually recommend trying again with a (slightly) more expensive ThermoMaven model that connects to the app.

The app does a great job with temperature estimation, charting, letting you see the various temperatures across the probe and ambient temperatures (5 temperature readings along the probe + 1 ambient sensor up top). Alerting has worked flawlessly. The app itself on app stores has amazing reviews (iOS: 4.7 stars on over 4000 reviews; my previous one was 2.7 stars on a few hundred).

BTW to the snark about range: remember these things are often placed into something resembling a Faraday cage which blocks a significant amount of signal. 3000 ft away sounds silly but when the effective range is substantially reduced due to interference... it makes sense.

(Also since this doesn't connect to wifi that added range makes a lot of sense, given both the drop in signal from eg your grill plus your, like, house.)

IMO: spend the extra $20.

Thanks just ordered. 2 weeks ago I purchased the 2 individual Typhor models. They were $25 each. I think I prefer to have a single unit with 2 thermometers. 1 screen with all the info, each thermometer is labeled so I can tell which one is which. The positive of have 2 individual is if one breaks the other is fine. With this single unit if the unit breaks both are done.

Setting this up and realized that it doesn't connect to the app. I really like the 2 thermometers in one device and the huge screen. But I like to have the app feature to see all 5 sensor temps and to watch the food anywhere from my phone. Probably won't use the app but still like the feature. Will be returning.

Seems like a good deal on a dual probe thermometer. (no Wi-Fi or App... but I can live with that)

Bought this recently, used it a few times. I mean for $40 it's not bad but it is definitely finnicky. I've had it not charge (gotta REALLY clean the probes) and also just randomly not turn off until the battery died... and lastly just drop connection. All of this said - for $40... hard to beat. I think it's better used for long smokes vs shorter cooks.
