All these Ingersoll Rand deals seem decent and all, but are the people buying these really browsing Slickdeals for their industrial shop tools? This isn't anything Joe or Jane Homeowner would need in a million years.

Seems way overpriced IMO. I don't consider Ingersoll Rand an industrial company anymore. Most of of these once "shop only" tool companies, sold out a long time ago. My first impact socket sets were IR purchased at Walmart.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Campbell Hausfeld? I've never seen an Ingersoll Rand product on Walmart store shelves.

Actually, yes. I've gotten a heavy duty 1200 ft lb impact wrench off slick deals, and this isn't very far out of the diy car repair area if you own anything larger than a Honda civic. The Honda civic crankshaft pulley nut is actually much easier to remove with this tool vs leverage…Suspension on cars, suvs, and trucks in the rust belt…Driving big anchors and lag screws…Things like this are appreciated by more than just a few of us. Maybe it's not for everyone , but this type of deal saves you money more than once and sometimes makes money back in the long run. 😌

I hear you but I've never known anyone to work on vehicles that aren't tractor trailers or giant construction equipment with a 1" drive impact, and especially not one with a permanent 6" anvil- it's just too big to fit in most places to begin with. I have seen people neck down a 3/4" drive tool for stubborn suspension fasteners, but never a 1".

For Honda crank bolts, I highly recommend getting the special socket- it makes taking them off cake even with a weak impact (the secret is the increased mass): https://www.amazon.com/Harmonic-B...07FW1BDNY/

Tons of regular homeowners have high power impact wrenches, not very many have a use for a $600 one inch though

I have one of those sockets. With a mid torque I was unable to loosen the crank bolt on a k24. Ended up purchasing a high torque that was posted here and it did the job. I've since used it for many other things I wouldn't have thought I would. I get that this thing is a brute, but I imagine people would use it on diesel trucks and the like. The extended anvil probably won't lose much of the torque produced by the hammer as it's one piece and massive. The big high torque bolts usually give you access…i know it is specialized, BUT it's probably going to be able to do more than you'd expect.
