I assembled two smaller cabinets in this set. It wasn't hard. I did it alone, so it took several hours. I bet it would take about 2 hours to put this big cabinet together. It would probably be less if you didn't have kids to distract you. Smilie

My personal preference:
  • Something like this with adjustable shelves if what I plan on putting on the shelves isn't too heavy. Adjustable ultimately means the shelves will be held up with four metal pegs that could slide out if one of the holes you put the pegs into is just slightly too big and the shelves could be rickity if the four pegs are not aligned exactly in the same plane.
  • Something with non-adjustable shelves, held to the walls with locking cam screws, if storing heavy stuff.
