Total Wireless [totalwireless.com] has Total Wireless: iPhone 17e (256GB) + $300 Service Credits over 12 Mo. (Total $0 Net Phone Cost) - New Customers - for $299.99

This is one of the strongest launch offers for the 17e, especially since it features the same A19 chip found in the flagship iPhone 17 and double the starting storage (256GB)

Offer:
  • Total Wireless is offering a massive discount on the newly released iPhone 17e.
  • Initial Price: $299.99 (Retail $599.99) when you switch and activate on the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan.
  • Monthly Rebate: Receive $25/month back in service credits for 12 months ($300 total value).
  • Net Result: After one year of service credits, the hardware cost is effectively $0 (plus taxes and the monthly plan cost).
Description & Requirements
  • Availability: New customers who port-in (switch) their number.
  • Required Plan: Total 5G+ Unlimited (typically $60/mo for a single line, or as low as $25/mo per line for 4 lines).
  • Credit Structure: $25/month credits start on your third month of active service and continue for 12 months.
  • Plan Perks: Includes Disney+, 15GB hotspot, and no-contract 5G priority data on the Verizon 5G Network
To get the Apple iPhone 17e for $299.99 at Total Wireless [totalwireless.com], you must complete a "port-in" activation, which means switching your existing phone number from a different carrier to a specific high-tier plan.

My plan is to buy the 17e outright from Apple and to get in on an unlimited plan with Total, Boost, Metro, or Red Pocket. My target price on the plan is $20.

This could be great price for someone who is already on Total Wireless but doesn't need any more lines... (like lots of us that came over from TMo and Metro)
Get the phone for $299 and forget the rest. Yeah, it's locked, but you can still move it over to one of your existing lines.
BTW, have ported multiple Google Voice lines without issue.

Requiring the $60/mo plan kills this deal, comparable or better plans from Visible (who also use Verizon) are $45/mo and usually even less than that with promos; only benefit of being on Total Wireless is being able to go to an in-person store since Visible doesn't have retail stores. Pretty much every free/discounted phone deal these days has some sort of huge catch like this, it really does seem like the days of good new phone deals are dead.

I thumbed down due to incorrect title - you should include that it requires 12 months of a $60 service plan. which also makes it a bad deal.

Considering the 16e never came down in price all that much, this is quite ok of a deal if you actually use Total Wireless

Anyone know if the iPhones are unlocked or not? I purchase a 15 for $299 for their instore deal and reading this thread it looks like its not unlocked (bummer). New policy indicates that its locked for the entire year? Any exception as I as not aware and have put down a deposit already for my kid.
