I missed the $399 iPad air 11 inch M3 deal back in December. Hopefully they bring it back.

Great cpu and tablet, but honestly iPad os gimps it. Would be amazing if Apple would let you run macos on it and it'd probably perform better than the new MacBook Neo using the mobile A18 chip too.

But you make it sound like WOW... 12GB of RAM, can't believe it.. Wow wow wow. But in reality, apple is way behind the eight ball with all their products. And high end tablets LIKE THIS ONE should have options to add more RAM... 24GB seems to be the new standard.. not 12GB.

Just FYI... ipads don't run all of Apple's apps... they only run Ipad OS apps. iPads cannot natively run macOS apps, as they use different operating systems (iPadOS vs. macOS) and file structures (.ipa vs. .app/.dmg).
For Apple it's kinda a "WOW".

OK, I meant run iPad apps... I know you can't run Mac apps.
Anyway, my Apple devices last longer (more usable life) and give me more enjoyment than Android devices. I do have an Android Pixel phone though (and I like it even though it has its issues), but all my other phones and tablets are Apple because they are just better overall for what I use them for. It's stupid to only rate a phone/tablet on the specs like RAM and CPU.... and Apple silicon/processors are top notch even if they don't have as much RAM as you think they should have.

I'm with you but only half way their. Apple's hardware is superior. Just wish they gave more RAM and better screens. I ended up getting a ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet and I am very happy with the purchase. But I think that was the unicorn of tablets... and sold out world wide and ZTE anounced they are not doing a third run. They even came out with these gold edition models that added a few extra hundred to the cost and only came in 24GB/1TB and those also sold out. I have not tried emulation yet but I did just buy side joysticks.

And how else do you rate a object is it is not based on specs. We can debate all day long who has better software... but you can't argue specs. In the end, when you are watching netflix or youtube... your tablet is as good as your screen regardless of OS.

i think your guys are comparing apples & oranges. i have used both. zte has raw specs, but longevity support and build quality are huge concerns. For apple, might seems limited in spec but things just works and build quality & longevity supports always expected. this is why apple a premium product.

if you like gaming and have time to digging in each possible specs, zte might be your choice.
if you like quality, values your times, not much of hardcore anything in a tablet. apple might be a better choice.

A review that is only based on specs like RAM or CPU is a really crappy review even if "you can't argue the specs".
I'll take a "lesser speced" iPad that is going to last me 7 years with a large and useful software library than something else with double the RAM that goes unsupported in a year or two and that performs like it has less RAM than the iPad does.

Look I completely agree with you about... having support for 7+ years. My pc's have all been supported by Microsoft for 12+ years and still going (will end in October). And, Android hardware kind of sucks regarding support, if google is not doing a high end tablet, IMHO... there is almost no point in getting Android if you are all about the updates. I personally hate Samsung more then Apple, due to the bloatware they have installed and how they have butchered Android. I choose my tablet based on what I personally want... the best add blocker (needs to be Android) and the best screen (and again, it is android)... which is not on apple.

But I will not go their... that it performs like it has less RAM then a iPad... that is a completely different debate. And larger library??? Come on now, lets get real.

If you have both, don't you think apple is lacking in screen quality?

comparing to apple air yes, for apple, oled, they want you to pay up for it in pro. however trade off for android support on these are like end in 3 yr or so? vs apple or samsung are 7+ now.personally, i think when these ram supply shortages over, then the "sold out" factor no longer a big deal. Might see a much different price point for all these products.

OK... which is it... Better Base in the Dell Alienware $4k laptop that has two subwoofers built in or Better Base in the ipad. I say the speakers of the ipad are like little gods, cause just like you say, you will never in you life get sound quality like the speakers in the ipad. But it looks like you are very serious about sound... The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra generally has better, louder, and clearer speakers than the M4/M5 iPad Pro, with superior bass and treble... I think you need to become a Android person if you want the best of the best.
It's not only about the hardware/speakers. Apple's sound processing capabilities are light years ahead of anyone else's IMO. Just last night I was taking a walk watching a show on my iPhone. I kept looking around me because the sound coming out of the phone was so spatially realistic. That was one thing I noticed when I moved from android to iPhone; my android's audio was unbelievably poor and I was blown away how good the iPhone sound processing was. It was so gosh darn realistic compared to the tinny garbage that came out of the android. This is on an old 12 Pro Max at that.

That's exactly the kind of deal I'm looking for, unfortunately there's no Sam's club near me, at least not near enough that being a member would make sense.
Dang that sucks! I just got mine in last night, and it's fast and lighter that I thought it was going to be.

Linux is open-sourced so developers aren't paid. Apple pays $200k+ for programmers to make sure it only runs MacOS. However, I think older MacBooks can run a version of ChromeOS.
