Baseus GaAN charge station similar to this died within 6 months (blinking lights indicating overload, but not actually overloaded) - so its brick now

That ring, that supposed to "protect" overload, gives me PTSD. I got one like this before, that ring just flashes after a few hours plugged in, nothing will charge. I asked for a replacement thinking it was defect, the second one came with the same thing. I finally asked for refund and they did refund me. Will I buy another of their charger with that ring thing? ABSOLUTELY NOT! But they are a decent company to deal with.
