$58 on a tabletop icemaker is a really good deal. But on a brand name and being red makes this an exceptional deal

I bought the insignia version about a couple of weeks ago on ebay with allstate warranty. Not sure if I should return and get this instead

Anyone know how reliable this is? I've gone through a few portable ice makers and they all seem to break after about a year

I recently purchased a Nugget Ice Maker from Frigidaire at Costco. Unfortunately, it ceased producing ice after just one month of use. I genuinely enjoyed using it while it lasted. When it stopped working, I filed a warranty claim without realizing how complicated the process would be. After a month of exchanging several emails and sending multiple pictures of the unit's malfunction, the company issued me a cheque instead of replacing the defective device. I felt quite disappointed, hoping that my efforts would at least result in a replacement rather than just a refund.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend this brand due to their poor customer service and the hassle involved in resolving issues.

Anyone know if this is easy to clean? I always read about ice makers molding due to hard to clean parts.

FYI. These extended warranties will always send a check or gift card as it's not financially feasible with the cost of mailing the product twice and including repair parts and labor. The hard part is convincing them your item qualifies.

I personally would not buy as the cost of electricity seems a lot to get ice (nine cubes in seven minutes?).

I had this one for four years. It finally molded so hard I had to throw it out. It's hard to keep dry even after draining it and drying it after every single use and running a clean cycle every week.

I've had the black version of this ice maker for 3 years now, and it's still going strong. I originally bought it from Walmart for about $60 (plus $5 for the warranty), and it's been a lifesaver since my Samsung fridge ice maker gave out.
The key to its longevity? I only use Reverse Osmosis (RO) water. Because the water is pure, I have zero scale buildup and the ice tastes amazing. Maintenance is easy: I do a light rinse with a drop of dish soap after use and vacuum the dust off the vents every few months. If you want this to last, buy it—but skip the tap water!

Same here had one and it broke within a year. Actually same brand name but it in black of the one being offered.
