Does anyone not get hit with the "Additional charges" at check out? Mine always equate to roughly 11% which is higher than state tax. So, there must be some tariff included.

It has been like this for months. I take it as a handling fee or whatever fee you'd like to name it. Just consider such additional fee into the final price. At the end, it is still a good price for the battery.

IIRC, it's the cash advance fee Paypal adds on...folks described the issue in older threads.

I got 4 of these last Sunday week to run a 48V solar system. They shipped from Costa Mesa, CA and came by Tuesday. I am in Socal so not sure it would be the same for all locations.

No way around it from what I understand. I purchased 4 in total in 4 separate orders and couldn't find a way around it. Still an amazing prices for this much capacity and technology, but would be nice to avoid of course.

Completely random question and yes I should do my own research. But does anyone know if this battery is "fast enough" to use as a UPS replacement battery? I wouldn't having the extra capacity and could also use it during power outages for other things.

The battery does not have a "switchover" time, it is always on. Switchover time is based on the inverter and how quickly it handles the change from running off grid power to battery power. If you are running a charger into the battery, then the inverter off the battery, there should be 0 switchover time because it is already running off battery power.

If you don't want to have to deal with Ali Express, the battery is on sale on e-bay for $320 from Ecoworthy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/126036129048
Not as good a deal, but none of the hassle or extra fees of Ali Express.
