FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

My primary card is a MasterCard and I use this to indirectly convert it to visa and then shop at costco as they only accept visa. Open to suggestions if any for a better options.

You can buy a Costco Shop Card online with your Mastercard and use it in store

I have tried that and costco denied that... Keep cancelling my shop card purchases. As per support they are doing it precisely to discourage this kind of MasterCard/amex/discovery to shop card conversion

If you shop at Amazon a lot just use the leftover amount to add it to your Amazon balance. You can buy digital gift cards of any amount.

In fact, if I typically get any visa or Mastercard rebate card via some offer, I just instantly just load the full amount to Amazon and throw away the card. That way I don't have to keep track of how much is left on the card. There is one less card to carry in your wallet and remember to use up. And I know any balance on Amazon will just get used up soon enough -- if not via direct purchases, through the random monthly subscriptions I have anyway. Of course, this depends on each person's shopping preferences, but for me Amazon balance is about as good as cash.

you can use to pay utility bill if the balance is $1 or more, less than $1 use at grocery store to drain leftover.

I get that this helps with credit card promotions.

But is there a fee-less way to turn it back into cash right away in a bank account without carrying around a bunch of cards?

Best way is to buy these using Chase Ink Business cards which earns 5x reward points at staples. If you then transfer these to airline miles or hotel points, you can realize at least 7% cashback or more. Even if you redeem them for straight statement credit, worst method I can imagine, you would still get 5% cashback. Second method is to use this to meet the minimum spending limit to earn creditcard signup bonus but I just prepay utility bills in that case. simpler, quicker. that's about it. everything else is a waste of time and no point.
