Don't think this is one of those neck fan devices. Based on the description, it uses a metal contact device on the back of your neck which can switch to hot or cold (using Peltier effect) depending on the temperature. Due to its battery limitation, in hot weather the cooling effect is limited to 2 hrs, however you might get up to 8 hrs of warmth when the weather is cold--but you also have to be comfortable with a hot plate on the back of your neck.

Think I'll pass and stick to my handheld fans and rechargeable hand warmers.

Don't waste your money. I had a brand new one a few years back. Barely feel the air. Does not cool you off on a hot day when walking/running.

odd - I had the exact opposite experience and found it to be a life saver while doing yard work, cooking out in the backyard, etc. These are directional meaning there is a top and bottom - so if you had these on upside down - not going to do much for you. However, when on correctly, and, set on high - these put out a lot of air on your neck (specifically your carotids) and keeps you pretty cooled off.
The big caveat here is that these are simply fans and blow around whatever air is 'in the air'. Meaning, if it's 75% humidity outside - dont even bother with these because the fans simply blow hot humid air on your already hot humid neck which doesn't do much. Other than the humidity thing - I really like my neck fan. Oh - also - my wife bought it for me 4 or 5 years ago when they first came out ($99'ish) and mine is still going strong.

That's a lot of words for product that doesn't match what's being sold here. This isn't a neck fan.

In terms of cooling is it any better than the neck fans? Which btw my generic one is kinda meh. Not sure if I would have need to warm the neck, hoodie for ears seems to be the thing.

i have a eye warmer/cooler with similiar tech... i'd say yes because its actually more like ice cube in back of your neck vs just a fan. less area coverage but it actually cools/cold

Since it only cools for up to 2 hours, or jeats for up to 8 hours, probably not
