Well it is quite a bit off but man this is expensive for a hand sander.

Made in Finland if anyone was curious.

As a woodworker, I have been able to get some fine finishes with my good 'ol Milwaukee random orbital sander. Doesn't cost anywhere near this.

Fantastic sanders, but a luxury item for a hobbyist. If you're sanding daily as part of your trade, these purchases can save you tons of time and save your hands from neuropathy. This is a good price for this sander, but obviously still expensive af.

As a side note, if you are in the market for a ridiculously expensive 3x4 sander... Perhaps you're a professional cabinet maker / refinisher, you can always get this and buy the surfprep pads to use with it.

I don't disagree with ya @helofrend but still!

I have made some decent pieces of furniture over the years and never thought of getting something like this.

I will say that the Mirka abrasives are top notch. I have some of those in 400-800 grit and they last a long time and stay clean. If I am working on a hard piece of wood like sugar maple or hickory, these I grab for the final finishes before 0000 steel wool.

No argument here. There's no substitute for your skill.
