Same as the Home Depot deal minus the 10% cash back. There is $50 off* your purchase of $300 up to $999 though for new credit card accounts.

If you purchased this from HomeDepot within the last 30 days, you can have them do a price adjustment. It only took about 5 minutes through the online chat to get $59 refunded. Normally it's like pulling teeth to get HomeDepot to do a price match, but because they also lowered their price to match Amazon, it was only an adjustment which they seem to be more willing to do.

Bought this last week at the higher price ($581). I reached out to Amazon's customer service for price adjust so I didn't have to do the return routine, but they said they couldn't do anything. I went through the return process and Amazon offered me $116 refund if I keep the item instead of go through with the return. So from $581 to $465 and I am pretty stoked. Not sure if it will work for others, but take that as you will. This post saved me quite a bit!

Same thing happened to me with a portable power bank during Black Friday

great deal. I picked one up from a guy closing his cabinet shop for $350, but it's worth every penny at this price.

I've been looking for a planer for a while. At this price point, it's a no brainer.

Great planer. Solid price. Sometimes it's sold with the mobile table as well which is nice since this thing is pretty heavy, but if you have a place to keep it, certainly not necessary. If you're the kind of person who is going to want to upgrade to a helical head, keep in mind that this could add several hundreds of dollars to the cost. It may be worth considering helical options up front if you're in that camp. The straight blades on this one made incredibly smooth passes for me until I nicked all three of them in one pass by running a block through that was too short. It ended up kicking up into the floor of the planer and bent a small piece of the frame opening on the bottom which then chipped all three knives. The good news is that you can reverse the blades to get more use out of them since they are double edged. You can also slide them over very slightly from side to side if there is a small nick at one location that another blade picks up the slack for so to speak. The bad news is that you can't really sharpen them much since they self index. If you make a jig and take off minimal material and the exact same amount of material off all three blades, I suppose you can get away with that, but it's an iffy proposition. Replacement blade set might run you like $80...probably twice that if you go with carbide. Helical head (there are two different sizes from Shelix and other options) could run $500 if not more.

One other thing I didn't realize when I purchased because I was certainly a novice when it came to these things...you don't need to attach a vacuum or powered dust collection to this thing. It has a built in impeller that ejects the chips and dust. This was a big plus for me since I don't have a large DC setup. Hooking it up to some tubing and run it to a sturdy appropriate filter bag will do the trick. If you do hook it up to dust collection, it can't just be a dust/shop vac. It has to be a legit high volume system. This will overpower your vacuum style dust collector. I'm sure some experts can chime in here if necessary.

In short, very happy I purchased it. It is very well designed and certainly exceeds the needs of a small time hobbyist like myself. You'll catch some pros using it sometimes too (Shout out to the next level carpentry videos).
