Is this only a filament dryer or can it be used as a multi-color printer addition? I'm new to 3D printing so still learning about all the accessories.

It's a 4 spool dryer with two 2 spool bays (you can dry two spools separately at a time)It's a very good dryer I have one

Strictly a dual chamber filament dryer. So you can have two different heat levels for two different materials. That being said, I jerry-rigged my X1C AMS to be fed with this dryer so it KIND OF works for multi-color prints but there is no easy way to retract the first filament when trying to switch. The dryer doesn't have a motor to roll the spool forward or back.

I have one of these (4 spool) and have been happy with it. I primarily use it to dry PETG, but I have used it to dry TPU, ABS, and some PLA that was giving me issues. My screen is not held in place very well, but a small piece of tape on the corner keeps it from being an issue.

I imagine this would work fine with the Anycubic Kobra X right? I don't believe a motorized AMS is required. I'm assuming a known refurbushed brand is still better than a new unknown such as this https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...el=twinner

That's the Sunlu S4, it's been around a while. I think it's considered a pretty good dryer, but single chamber and obviously a different orientation, if that matters. Also only hits 70C vs 85C for the Creality, so not suitable for some higher-end engineering filaments.

The picture on that listing looks awfully like the Sunlu S4 which I had and is good (not as good as this Creality which can reach higher temps and heat two chambers independently), but I'd be leery buying from that seller you linked. Imo I'd go with the Sovol SHO3 new which seems to be able to do anything the Creality can do around the same price as this refurbished unit. I'm generally okay with refurbs for most products but not when I can get a comp product new for a similar price.

I don't own the Kobra X to say definitively, but How does the filament retract between color changes?

Capabilities-wise they're nearly identical. I've read the Creality has a better interface. I just ordered the SH03 a few days ago. Kind of wish I'd gotten this instead, simply because it has more options for filament outlets.

Still waiting on mine to arrive, but apparently it is all done in the print head using a cam shaft and worm gear mechanism.

I would guess you could use it. While the retraction process isn't the exact same on the Centauri Carbon 2, the idea seems the same and I know people have been able to use this creality with the CC2.

Like others said, this is strictly a dryer.

If you own a creality printer (I have a k2), you're looking for their CFS. That's a $330 unit with no drying capability.

That said, this is a pretty good price for a 4 spool dryer that can reach that high a temperature

Is this one built the same as the 1 and 2 spool version? Those have the control board in the path of the hot air so they cook themselves.
