All the max amp ratings are made up, very few manufacturers label their cranking amps which is what really matters. Like Gooloo GP4000 has 800A for 3 seconds and 500A for 5 seconds which is what really matters.

I can't tell if your comment is a pro or con for the GooLoo GP4000. I just got it in the mail after panic ordering it due to a battery issue for our van. It sounds like GooLoo is one of the goto brands for starter packs, but curious how your experience has been with the GP4000

One thing to notice on this unit is the forced start or "boost" button. This will allow you to start a car with a battery that is completely dead (sitting too long, old battery, etc.). If your alternator is good, the car will keep running.

I brought the GP4000 with me for Ice Fishing in northern MN this winter. it was 40 below windchill and we had 2 trucks and a side by side that would not fire up. Each owner had used some flavor of jump box with no joy. I pulled out my GP4000 and started all three in succession. Each owner took a picture of my GP4000 to order when they got home. I picked it because Project Farm thought it was a winner with Price/Performance.

Also a Minnesotan here, so this is really helpful, thank you! I just paid $80 for it from Amazon, but that will promptly be getting returned for the Walmart one instead. That's a good price from what I've seen.

Thanks for this referral. I have been looking for a replacement starter for my son's truck. He had a JNC 6600 and the battery will not recharge after 3 years.
