Numbers apart, audio experience differs from person to person. My friends have Sony, Samsung, Klipsch, SVS and Polk mix n match systems and I own the Sonos system. In my experience, Sonos sounds much better than any of the systems I mentioned above and many of my friends do agree with it. However room acoustics matters.

A soundbar and HT speaker setup both produce sound BUT they do it completely different.
They should not be compared but there is always someone that will do it.

Yeah, I think what some people miss with the Sonos system is how well the speakers play together. It just creates a great immersive sound where you can't really tell which speaker the sounds coming from.

Arguable. A receiver, center channel, 2 bookshelf's 2 surrounds, and a sub for under 2k that can beat a Sonos system? I'll believe it when I see it...

There's always a comment about how a traditional system with wires and all is better. Of course it will be better. The point here is setting up Sonos is minimal effort , and modular approach means I can add or upgrade at my convenience. Also multi room setup is a breeze. Sounds almost 80 percent as good as traditional while not looking obnoxious.

I would argue there are more saying soundbars "sound almost 80 percent as good as traditional".
Everything you mentioned has nothing to do with "better" sound.
Either comparison is incorrect.
