Nice deal - but wish either 8GB wasn't soldered or was 16gb. I'd rather pay more and have a machine that has longer usability.

TN screen with only 45% NTSC and 220 nits brightness is rough. Decent specs for the price otherwise but the screen is a huge letdown and everything will look washed out and dim.

Looks like it's actually a touchscreen - I know the display isn't the best but a touchscreen is a nice bonus

4gb ram soldered to motherboard and only one sodimm slot meaning the max memory you could put is 12gb. Wouldn't be terrible light use.
Right, I would say it's great for light use. Idk why people are downvoting comments that point this out

Probably because it's wrong:

I thought all Mendocino laptops were using LPDDR5 only, with no DDR5 SODIMM support at all, whatsoever.

Best Buy page says 0 memory slots. So does Lenovo:

The Q&A answers from Lenovo also back this up. No ram slots and it is 8GB soldered to the board. Still probably fine for a grandma PC but beyond web browsing and microsoft office apps it likely is too weak for most use cases.

no idea why anyone shopping for a 150 dollar laptop is going to spec shop, your only spec at 150 is it powers on and works. This is not a laptop for a power user, this is a hand to the kid in the back seat to shut them up and keep your laptop away from them laptop. or take it camping laptop so if it gets wet or lost, you did not lose a 1000 dollar machine

The CPU performance is quite limited; on Windows 11 you'll spend a lot of time waiting for the operating system. But! The laptop should be quite usable with Linux (e.g. Mint). Windows 10 would probably also be fine, aside from the lack of updates outside of the EU.
Here it is compared to what I consider to be a decently-performing 4-year-old i7-1255U business laptop CPU.

Same for the RAM - 8GB is barely enough to run Windows 11 and a single browser tab, while on Mint I'm currently running Discord in a voice channel watching a stream, running Steam (for chat), two browser windows, and multiple tabs and I'm only using 7.7GB of RAM.
P.S. Appears to be OOS in the Portland, OR area.

LPDDR ram is always soldered and doesn't support SODIMM slots so unless that part of the spec is wrong this is not upgradeable. I'm sure you could do worse at this price but this is definitely a cheap laptop at a cheap price. 8gb is passable but limited. 256gb storage is okay if you aren't going for any multi-media stuff stored locally and the screen works but certainly isn't going to be anything special.
