I have this, purchased about 10 months ago for about 60cents more.It works fine, and have no compaints for the price. However (to complain), I don't like the cool white and would prefer something more natural, also would prefer a continuous dimmer rather than just 5 levels, and also an adjustable timer. I have one under my kitchen cabinet and 20 seconds is a bit short. I used the screws to attach the magnets under the cabinet. They popped thru the cabinet's flimsy bottom shelf and I cut the ends off with a dremel tool. I've yet to install the other one, but plan to put it in a closet.
It seems to hold a charge for a long time.

I bought these. Agree, soft white is much better for kitchen but will use these until I get softwhite and move these elsewhere. They are pretty nice actually side from the adhesive. If your surface is not smooth you will need to buy better two sided adhesive.

Anyone know if these will turn on and off while plugged in? Can they be left plugged in (i.e. charging) perpetually without dying?

Generally not good for li-on batteries unless they are designed for it. They'll swell and catch fire.
