It should but the pictures show ice packs. If this needs ice packs to stay cool then it won't keep warm.

Though I guess you could put a burning rock inside.

I have the tote bag version and the insulation is very good for heat. It kept my food warm for a few hours even on a very cold day. Think about those bags the pizza delivery people use.
