I have Hydro Flask tumblers, and they work well. I can't compare them directly to the other brand. I've heard that lead can be in the internals of Stanleys, but probably all of them are similar in that regard, unfortunately.

I prefer Hydroflask than Stanley. They perform equally but I find the soft straw on Hydroflask much more comfortable to casually sip on and easier to clean.

I use both and the Stanly lead is news to me. I'm looking it up and they say it's used in the manufacturing process to seal it. While it's not exposed on the surface it can leach if the vacuum is damaged. Something to consider.

In a statement to USA Today, Stanley said it would "vigorously defend itself against meritless claims. ... As we have shared, there is no lead present on the surface of any Stanley product that comes into contact with the consumer nor the contents of the product."

Both are pretty much the same imo minus internal lead. Hydroflask makes more sizes. 16, 20, 28 oz. Stanley only has the 16 oz pints in this style. The Stanley has a larger lip area, sometimes I can feel the coating on my lip with the hydroflask. Not a deal breaker. I personally like the 28oz hydroflask because I'm a hydro homie.

I have another large Hydro flask and love it. I bought a set of thermoflas ones from Costco but they began to loose their cooling after a few months. 3 months and no issues with the other. I'm in for another smaller cup! Great deal
